Jakarta – An unexpected event was experienced by the family of Daphna and Alexander Cardinale in September 2019. Initially, Daphna and Alexander Cardinale welcomed the arrival of their second child with great joy after undergoing the IVF process. The couple from Los Angeles, United States have been waiting for a baby for years after the birth of their first child, Mother. Reported by Insider, the two decided to undergo an IVF procedure or in vitro fertilization (IVF) at the California Center for Reproductive Health (CCRH). Despite their failure, the couple finally succeeded in having a daughter. Daphna and Alexander chose this clinic on the recommendation of a friend. He also believed in the fertility clinic and Dr. Eliran Mor, who handled the procedure. During the IVF procedure, Daphna and Alexander did not experience any problems. However, after the baby was born, the couple realized something was wrong with their baby girl. Photo: HaiBunda/Mia Daphna and Alexander feel the baby doesn’t look like them at all. Both also underwent DNA tests and the results came out two months later. The test results showed that the baby girl Daphna was carrying was not her biological child. “I was shaken, confused because I didn’t recognize him,” said Alexander who saw the baby had slightly dark skin and black hair. Daphna and Alexander had absolutely no idea what had happened to their child. In the end, they found out that the CCRH IVF clinic had wrongly implanted the embryo. Daphna Cardinale contains an embryo belonging to a stranger, while their embryo is implanted in the stranger. It is known that a woman, who did not wish to be named, gave birth to the biological daughter of the Cardinales family a week before Daphna gave birth. Although not his biological child, Daphna and Alexander took care of him with great affection. Daphna even admitted that she was afraid of losing the baby she was carrying, Mother. “When I found out he was not my biological child, I immediately gave him a lot of love. Maybe because I was close to him. I was even so afraid of losing him, even though in reality it would happen,” Daphna said, quoting CBS News. Daphna and her husband decided to return the baby girl to her biological parents. The couple then got their biological child back. Both also sued the fertility clinic to take legal action.
