– Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola said his team performed well when they beat Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) 2-1 on matchday 5 of the Champions League Group A, Thursday morning WIB. “We played very well. In football the results are random. Nobody knows what will happen,” said Pep Guardiola, quoted from Man City’s official website, Thursday (11/25/2021). According to him, Manchester City appeared consistent in the match against PSG and put in a very good performance so that they could win the game. Pep Guardiola thinks the performances shown by his team are very comfortable to watch and he hopes Manchester City can play as long as they can. “What gives you consistency is how you play and how we play is very good. People enjoy watching and hopefully we can maintain this as long as possible,” explained the Spaniard. Guardiola said PSG were an extraordinary team with great players and put in the same performance they played in Paris, but Manchester City had plenty of chances in the first half. Despite losing in Paris with a score of 0-2, Guardiola said that Manchester City put pressure on them well and learned from the defeat. “PSG, amazing team, amazing players, what can I say? It was a similar performance in Paris last month. Today we created more chances in the first half,” said Guardiola. “We pressed well in Paris and we adjusted because we learned what we had to do. They decided not to play with (Angel) Di Maria, but they are very dangerous.” Manchester City beat PSG in their fifth Champions League Group A match on Wednesday night local time (Thursday CEST) through goals from Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus. This victory brought Manchester City to the first place in Group A standings with 12 points from four matches and ensured they qualified for the last 16 of the Champions League.
