Jakarta – The Christmas and New Year (Nataru) holidays are coming soon. To prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus, the Government has made new rules regarding holidays during this period, Mother. The government decided to abolish the joint holidays for Christmas and New Year’s Day. The Christmas holiday which falls on Friday, December 24, 2021, is officially abolished. This rule is contained in the Joint Decree (SKB) of the Minister of Religion, Minister of Manpower, Minister of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform of the Three Ministers’ SKB Number 712 of 2021, Number 1 of 2021, and Number 3 of 2021 concerning National Holidays and Joint Leave of 2021. In addition to holiday leave for workers, the Government also appealed to schools not to give special holidays during the Nataru period, Mother. This appeal is contained in the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs (Inmendagri) Number 62 of 2021 concerning Prevention and Control of Corona Virus Disease 2019 at Christmas in 2021 and New Year in 2022. The instruction has been signed directly by the Minister of Home Affairs General Police (Ret.) Muhammad Tito Karnavian on November 22, 2021. As per instructions, the special holiday period is prohibited from December 24, 2021 to January 2, 2022. During this Christmas and New Year holiday period, schools are not allowed to provide special holidays. The holiday is only valid on predetermined red dates, namely December 25, 2021 and January 1, 2022. This instruction was made by the government to reduce the rate of transmission of COVID-19 in Indonesia. The decision was also made after seeing the rate of increase in COVID-19 cases in the country after the Christmas and New Year holidays last year.
