Jakarta – Entering 2022, the government is still trying to break the chain of transmission of COVID-19. The government emphasized that all Indonesian citizens (WNI) from abroad are required to quarantine for 10 or 14 days when they arrive in the country. The difference in the duration of the quarantine depends on the country of origin of the Indonesian citizen, Mother. This quarantine obligation is confirmed in the latest decree. The letter issued by the Head of Task Force for Handling COVID-19 Number 1 of 2022 contains the Entry Point, Quarantine Place, and RT-PCR Obligations for Indonesian Citizens Traveling Overseas. Based on the decree, the new quarantine rules apply to all Indonesian citizens who travel from certain countries. In addition, the quarantine duration is divided into 10 and 14 days. Regarding the emergence of a new variant of Omicron, there are several countries that require Indonesian citizens to quarantine after returning from the place. Indonesian citizens need to quarantine for 14×24 hours or two weeks after returning from the country with the following criteria. First, namely countries that have confirmed the existence of community transmission of the B.1.1.592 variant or the Omicron variant. In addition, countries that have more than 10,000 confirmed cases of the Omicron variant also need to be vigilant. Then, Indonesian citizens are also required to quarantine after returning from a country that is geographically close to the country of transmission of the Omicron variant community, Mother. Meanwhile, Indonesian citizens who return from countries that do not meet the above criteria are also still required to quarantine. They must be quarantined for at least 10 days. Quarantine regulations will continue to be tightened considering the Omicron variant that has started to enter various countries, including Indonesia. Currently, there have been a total of 68 cases of Omicron found in Indonesia until December 29, 2021, Mother. In these 68 cases, 29 patients were reported to have no symptoms, 29 other patients were ill with mild symptoms, 1 patient had moderate symptoms, and 9 other patients were without information. It is known, the 68 new patients are all overseas travelers. A total of 11 patients of whom are foreign nationals (foreigners). Despite the quarantine, the government also urges Indonesians not to travel to countries with high transmission of the Omicron variant. In addition to the quarantine duration, the regulation, which was just signed on January 1, 2022, also mentions the policy of quarantine places for foreign travellers.
