In these 68 cases, 29 patients were reported to have no symptoms, 29 other patients were ill with mild symptoms, 1 patient had moderate symptoms, and 9 other patients were without information. Of the current total of 254 cases, the majority of patients exposed to the Omicron variant in Indonesia were found in foreign travellers. In comparison, 239 cases are imported cases and the remaining 15 are local transmissions. The COVID-19 task force has also confirmed community transmission. In their report, the case fatality of the Omicron variant was noted to be low. However, the case of the spread of this variant is still being strived to be controlled. “A positive case of the Omicron variant has been found due to community transmission,” said the spokesman for the COVID-19 Task Force, Prof. Wiku Adisasmito at a press conference recently.
